At Baru Skin Care LLC, our goal is to provide every client with high-quality skincare services and products in a welcoming, professional environment. This Refund Policy outlines when refunds are and are not available across our services, products, gift cards, packages, and loyalty rewards.
By booking a service, purchasing a product, or buying a gift card with Baru Skin Care, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.
1. Refunds on Services
Completed Services Once a service has been performed, no refunds will be issued, regardless of personal preference or satisfaction with the outcome. This is standard practice in the professional skincare industry, as services involve real-time labor, product use, and reserved time.
If you are unhappy with a service, please let us know within 48 hours of your appointment. We will work with you in good faith to address your concerns, which may include a courtesy touch-up at our discretion. Courtesy touch-ups are not guaranteed and are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Pre-Paid Services Canceled with Proper Notice If you cancel a pre-paid service within the cancellation window outlined in our Cancellation Policy, your prepayment will be refunded as follows:

Individual appointments: Full refund when canceled with at least 24 hours' notice

Group bookings: Full refund when canceled with at least 48 hours' notice
Late Cancellations and No-Shows

Less than 24 hours' notice (individual): 50% of the service price is forfeited

Less than 48 hours' notice (group): 50% of the service price is forfeited

No-shows or same-day cancellations: Full service price is forfeited

Services Canceled by Baru Skin Care If Baru Skin Care must cancel or postpone your appointment for any reason — including illness, emergency, or determination that services cannot be safely provided — your prepayment or deposit will be fully refunded.
For oncology clients, see Section 5 below.
2. Deposits
Deposits are required to secure all appointments:

Standard services: $30

Oncology Skin Consultation: $50

Group bookings: Determined at the time of booking
Deposits are non-refundable except in the following limited circumstances:

Severe weather that prevents safe travel to the studio

Documented illness preventing attendance (notify us as soon as possible)

Cancellation initiated by Baru Skin Care
-
Determination by Alejandra during oncology consultation that services cannot be safely provided
In all other cases, deposits are forfeited if a cancellation policy violation occurs.
3. Refunds on Products
We offer a limited refund policy for skincare products purchased through our Shop or in-studio.
Eligibility for Product Refunds You may return a product for a refund if all of the following conditions are met:

The return is requested within 14 days of the purchase or delivery date

The product is unused, unopened, and in its original packaging

You provide proof of purchase (order confirmation, receipt, or transaction record)
Non-Returnable Products The following products are not eligible for refund:

Opened or used products (for hygiene and safety reasons)

Products purchased more than 14 days ago

Products damaged due to misuse

Custom or special-order products

Products marked as "Final Sale"

Return Shipping For eligible product returns, Baru Skin Care will cover return shipping costs. Once we receive the returned product and confirm it meets our return conditions, your refund will be processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
Adverse Reactions to Products If you experience an adverse reaction to a product, please stop using it immediately and contact us. While we cannot guarantee a refund for opened products, we will review each situation individually and respond in good faith.
We strongly recommend reviewing product ingredients before purchase and consulting your healthcare provider if you have allergies, sensitivities, or relevant medical conditions.
4. Gift Cards
Gift cards issued by Baru Skin Care are subject to the following refund terms:

Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash

Gift cards do not expire, in accordance with New York State law

Gift cards are transferable and may be given to another person

Gift cards may be redeemed for any service offered by Baru Skin Care

The minimum gift card value must be equal to or greater than the price of one full service, unless a custom amount is approved
Lost or Stolen Gift Cards Baru Skin Care is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged gift cards. Please treat your gift card like cash.
5. Oncology Services
Oncology-related services follow a modified refund policy to accommodate the unique needs of clients undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment.
Consultation Fee ($50)

Non-refundable under normal circumstances

Fully refundable if Alejandra determines during your consultation that services cannot be safely provided
-
The fee is applied as a credit toward your first Oncology-Safe Facial or Barrier Repair Facial Therapy when scheduled within 30 days of consultation
Treatment Cancellations Due to Medical Reasons We understand that cancer treatment can be unpredictable. If you need to cancel due to a sudden change in your treatment, illness, or medical situation, we will work with you compassionately and will not apply standard cancellation penalties.

6. Multi-Session Packages
Baru Skin Care may offer multi-session service packages from time to time. The following refund terms apply to all package purchases:

Packages are non-refundable once purchased

Unused sessions within a package are non-transferable to cash

Packages may have expiration dates, which will be disclosed at the time of purchase

Specific package terms will be provided in writing at the time of sale
If you are unable to complete a package due to documented medical reasons or other extenuating circumstances, please contact us. We will review your situation on a case-by-case basis but cannot guarantee a refund.
7. Loyalty Program Rewards
Loyalty program points and rewards earned through the Baru Skin Care loyalty program are subject to the following refund terms:

Loyalty points and rewards have no cash value

Points and rewards cannot be redeemed for cash, transferred to another person, or refunded

If a service paid for partially or fully with loyalty rewards is canceled, the rewards may be re-credited to your account at our discretion

Fraudulent activity may result in forfeiture of accumulated points without refund

8. Chargebacks and Disputes
If you have an issue with a charge, please contact us first to resolve the matter directly before initiating a chargeback through your bank or payment provider. We are committed to working with clients in good faith.
Fraudulent or Bad-Faith Chargebacks Filing a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the issue with us, or filing a fraudulent chargeback, may result in:

Permanent denial of future services

Submission of documentation (intake forms, signed consent, appointment records, receipts) to your payment provider as evidence

Pursuit of any unpaid balance through legal means
Baru Skin Care maintains detailed records of all client interactions to protect both our business and the integrity of our pricing and service commitments.
9. Refund Processing Times
Approved refunds will be processed as follows:

Credit/Debit Cards (via Wix Payments): 5–10 business days

Zelle: 1–3 business days
-
Cash: Refunded in cash or by another agreed-upon method
-
Gift card refunds (where applicable under law): Issued as store credit unless legally required otherwise
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the purchase. We cannot issue refunds to a different account or payment method.
