Cancellation & No-Show Policy

At Baru Skin Care LLC, every appointment is reserved especially for you. To respect the time of all our clients and to maintain the quality of our services, we have established the following cancellation, no-show, rescheduling, and deposit policy.

By booking any service with Baru Skin Care, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Individual Appointment Cancellations

We require a minimum of 24 hours' notice for the cancellation or rescheduling of any individual appointment.

  • Cancellations made with at least 24 hours' notice: No charge. You may reschedule freely.

  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the appointment: A charge equal to 50% of the scheduled service will apply.

  • No-shows or same-day cancellations without notice: The full price of the scheduled service will be charged.

2. Group Appointment Cancellations

For group bookings such as spa parties, multiple-person sessions, or special events, we require a minimum of 48 hours' notice for cancellation or rescheduling.

  • Cancellations made with at least 48 hours' notice: No charge. You may reschedule freely.

  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the appointment: A charge equal to 50% of the scheduled services will apply.

  • No-shows or same-day cancellations without notice: The full price of the scheduled services will be charged.

Group bookings may require a deposit at the time of booking. Deposit terms for group services will be discussed and confirmed during the booking process based on the size and scope of the event.

3. Booking Deposits

To secure your appointment, a deposit is required at the time of booking. The deposit amount depends on the type of service:

  • Standard Skincare Services: $30 deposit

  • Oncology Skin Consultation: $50 consultation fee

  • Group Bookings & Spa Parties: Deposit amount determined at the time of booking

How Deposits Are Applied: Your deposit is applied as a credit toward the total cost of your service. The remaining balance is paid at the time of your appointment.

Deposit Refund Policy: Deposits are non-refundable except in the following limited circumstances:

  • Severe weather that prevents safe travel to the studio

  • Documented illness preventing attendance

  • Cancellation initiated by Baru Skin Care

In all other cases — including missed appointments, late cancellations, or no-shows — your deposit is forfeited.

For oncology clients, the $50 consultation fee follows special rules outlined in our Oncology Client Disclaimer. If Alejandra determines during your consultation that services cannot be safely provided, the fee will be fully refunded.

4. Late Arrivals

We provide a 15-minute grace period for late arrivals to accommodate unexpected delays.

  • Arrivals within 15 minutes: Your service will proceed as scheduled, though it may be slightly shortened to stay on schedule for the following client.

  • Arrivals more than 15 minutes late: Your service may be shortened, rescheduled, or canceled at the discretion of Baru Skin Care.

  • If your service is shortened due to late arrival, no partial refund will be issued. The full price of the scheduled service still applies.

  • If your appointment must be rescheduled due to excessive lateness, the cancellation policy may apply.

We strongly encourage clients to arrive 5–10 minutes early to ensure a relaxed, unhurried experience and to complete any necessary intake paperwork.

5. Rescheduling

We are happy to reschedule appointments as a courtesy when proper notice is given. Rescheduling within the appropriate cancellation window does not incur any charge:

  • Individual appointments: Reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice

  • Group bookings: Reschedule with at least 48 hours' notice

To reschedule, please contact us by phone, email, or through your online booking link as soon as possible.

6. Cancellations by Baru Skin Care

If we must cancel or reschedule your appointment for any reason — including illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances — you will be notified as soon as possible. In such cases:

  • Your deposit will be fully refunded if you choose not to reschedule

  • You may reschedule at no additional cost

If Alejandra is unable to provide service on the day of an appointment due to illness or emergency, you will be notified the morning of the appointment.

7. Illness Policy

We ask that clients reschedule their appointment if they are feeling unwell or have any of the following:

  • Active fever or illness

  • Contagious infection (cold, flu, COVID-19, etc.)

  • Active herpes outbreak, conjunctivitis, or other contagious skin condition

  • Any other communicable illness

Rescheduling due to illness is allowed without penalty when proper notice is given. Clients arriving visibly ill may be asked to reschedule for the safety of Alejandra and other clients.

If you have had recent exposure to a contagious illness, please notify us before your appointment so we can determine the safest path forward.

8. Oncology Service Cancellations

We understand that cancer treatment can be unpredictable. If you are an oncology client and need to cancel or reschedule due to a sudden change in your treatment, illness, or medical situation, please contact us as soon as possible.

We will work with you compassionately and will not apply standard cancellation penalties in such cases. Please refer to the Oncology Client Disclaimer for full details on oncology-specific cancellation policies.

9. Repeated No-Shows or Cancellations

To respect the time of all our clients, we reserve the right to:

  • Require prepayment in full for future bookings

  • Decline future bookings from clients with a pattern of no-shows or last-minute cancellations

  • Discontinue service for clients who repeatedly disregard our policies

This policy helps us ensure that appointment availability is preserved for clients who value and respect our time.

10. How to Cancel or Reschedule

You may cancel or reschedule your appointment by:

11. Acknowledgment

By booking an appointment with Baru Skin Care, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Cancellation & No-Show Policy. Continued use of our services indicates ongoing acceptance of these terms.
