Product selection for each client is determined during consultation based on skin type, condition, allergies, sensitivities, and treatment goals.
5. Allergy and Sensitivity Protocols
Client safety begins with a thorough understanding of each client's history.
Before Any Service:
-
Every new client completes a detailed intake form disclosing allergies, sensitivities, medications, and medical conditions
-
Alejandra reviews the intake form personally before beginning service
-
Product ingredients are reviewed against any disclosed allergies or sensitivities
-
Clients are asked to confirm any updates to their health status at every visit
During the Service:
-
Patch tests may be performed on sensitive areas before applying new products
-
Clients are encouraged to communicate immediately if they experience any discomfort, stinging, burning, or unusual sensation
-
Services may be modified or stopped at any time if a reaction is observed
Client Responsibility: You are responsible for accurately and completely disclosing all known allergies, sensitivities, and medical conditions. Failure to disclose may compromise your safety and may release Baru Skin Care from liability for any resulting reactions.
6. Illness and Infectious Disease Policy
To protect the health and safety of all clients and staff, the following policies apply:

10. Special Considerations
The following situations require additional caution and may affect service delivery:
Pregnancy Clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding must disclose this on the intake form. Certain treatments, ingredients, and techniques may be modified or avoided during pregnancy. We will tailor services to be safe and appropriate.
Recent Cosmetic Procedures Clients who have had recent cosmetic procedures (Botox, fillers, chemical peels, laser treatments, microneedling, etc.) must disclose this on the intake form. Service modifications or delays may be required:
-
Avoid retinols, acids, exfoliating, and waxing for 3–5 days before facial services
-
Avoid these treatments for 1 week before dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, or nano infusion facials
-
Avoid Botox for 2 weeks before any treatment
Medications Clients using certain medications — particularly Accutane, Retin-A, Tazorac, Renova, Differin, Azelex, or alpha hydroxy acids — must disclose this. These medications may affect skin sensitivity and require service modifications.
Recent Skin Cancer or Skin Conditions Clients with a history of skin cancer or active skin conditions must disclose this and may require physician clearance before certain services.
Sun Exposure We recommend avoiding excessive sun exposure for 24–48 hours before and after most facial services.
11. Aftercare Instructions
After every service, clients receive verbal and (when appropriate) written aftercare instructions tailored to the treatment received. Following aftercare instructions is essential for:
-
Achieving the best results from your treatment
-
Protecting your skin during the healing process
-
Avoiding adverse reactions or complications
Failure to follow aftercare instructions may compromise your results and may release Baru Skin Care from liability for any negative outcomes that result.

Air quality is maintained through proper ventilation
