Baru Skin Care LLC is committed to providing a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive experience for all clients. We believe everyone deserves access to high-quality skincare services and clear, helpful information — regardless of ability.
This Accessibility Statement outlines our current accessibility practices, the accommodations we can offer, and how to request additional support.
1. Our Commitment
At Baru Skin Care, we are committed to:
-
Treating every client with dignity, respect, and care
-
Providing reasonable accommodations whenever possible
-
Continuously improving our space, services, and website to be more accessible
-
Listening to client feedback to help us serve everyone better
We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing process, and we are dedicated to making meaningful improvements over time.
2. Studio Accessibility
Our studio is located at:
16 Primrose Ave, Mount Vernon, NY 10552
Please be aware of the following important accessibility information about our physical location:
-
The studio is not currently wheelchair accessible. Our entrance and treatment room are not equipped for clients with significant mobility limitations at this time.
-
The treatment room may not be suitable for clients requiring mobility assistance, transfer equipment, or specialized seating.
-
We are happy to discuss your specific needs in advance to determine whether we can safely accommodate your visit.
If you have any questions about the physical accessibility of our space, please contact us before booking so we can have an open and honest conversation about your needs.
3. Parking and Arrival
-
Free street parking is available near the studio with a 2-hour limit.
-
We recommend arriving a few minutes early to allow time to locate parking.
-
If you require any assistance with parking or entry, please call us in advance and we will do our best to help.
-
An outdoor area is available near the studio for clients who would like a calm space to wait or relax before or after their appointment.
4. Accommodations We Can Provide
While our space has physical limitations, we are committed to providing accommodations whenever possible. Depending on your needs, we may be able to offer:
-
Assistance with intake forms — including reading forms aloud, accepting verbal responses, or providing additional time to complete them
-
Extended appointment times — to allow for a more comfortable, unhurried pace
-
Adjusted communication — including written notes, slower speech, or use of translation tools
-
Caregiver or support person presence — caregivers are welcome to accompany clients during their appointment
-
Service modifications — adapting our services to suit your needs and comfort whenever safely possible
-
Sensory accommodations — including dimmed lighting, lower music volume, or a quieter atmosphere
-
Bilingual service — appointments and communication available in English and Spanish
Please contact us in advance to discuss any specific needs so we can prepare to support you properly.
5. Website Accessibility
Our website is hosted on Wix, which includes several built-in accessibility features designed to support a range of users. While we have not yet completed a formal WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) audit, we are actively working toward improving the accessibility of our website over time.
If you encounter any difficulty using our website, we want to hear from you. We will work with you to provide the information, booking assistance, or services you need by phone, email, or in person.
6. Languages and Communication
Alejandra is bilingual and offers services and communication in both English and Spanish. We can accommodate clients who prefer to communicate in either language for:
-
Intake forms and consultations
-
Service appointments
-
Email and phone communication
-
Booking assistance
For clients with hearing or speech differences, we are happy to communicate by email, text, or written notes — whatever works best for you.
7. Service Animals
Service animals are welcome at Baru Skin Care, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you plan to bring a service animal, please let us know in advance so we can ensure the space is properly prepared for your visit.
8. How to Request an Accommodation
If you need an accommodation, have an accessibility question, or want to discuss whether we can meet your needs, please contact us directly:
By Phone: (848) 628-4649 By Email: baruskincareofficial@gmail.com
We recommend contacting us at least 48 hours in advance of your appointment when possible. This allows us time to prepare the space, gather any needed supplies, and ensure your visit goes as smoothly as possible.
There is no extra charge for accommodations. Our goal is simply to make your experience as comfortable and welcoming as possible.
9. Feedback and Suggestions
We welcome feedback about our accessibility practices. If you have suggestions for how we can improve, or if you experienced any accessibility barriers during your visit or while using our website, please let us know.
You can share feedback by phone or email. All feedback is taken seriously and used to help us continuously improve.
We treat all accessibility concerns confidentially and with care.
10. Ongoing Improvements
